Porcelain Veneers in Maspeth

woman in exam chair smiling at cameraAre you happy with the appearance of your smile? Do you lack self-confidence due to flawed front teeth? Chips, stains, and other blemishes makes smiles appear less beautiful, and may make patients feel less confident when smiling, speaking or laughing. At Maspeth Dental, Dr. Lorber may recommend high-quality porcelain veneers to conceal and correct chips, cracks, stains, minor orthodontic irregularities, and other smile flaws. Veneers are a popular, minimally invasive, effective cosmetic dentistry option that correct smile imperfections with one painless procedure. This durable, stain-resistant treatment option, allows patients to “push the reset button” on even the most flawed smiles.

What are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin shells of high-quality dental porcelain handcrafted in a lab by skilled ceramists. Artisans in ceramics labs have years of training and experience fabricating fine restorations that fit seamlessly over existing dental structure. Porcelain is stain resistant and its reflective properties closely mimic that of natural tooth enamel, so only you and Dr. Lorber ever know you’ve had a cosmetic smile enhancement.

What to Expect from Porcelain Veneers

It requires 2-3 visits to design, fabricate, and place custom porcelain veneers. If there are certain smiles you admire (your favorite actor or model), bring a photo to your initial consultation. We examine your current smile and discuss parts of other smiles that may be effective in improving your overall appearance combining attributes of those smiles you find appealing with your own unique smile to create veneers. Porcelain veneers change the style, shape, size, and color of smiles giving any patient a celebrity smile.

During the first visit at Maspeth Dental, we prepare teeth to receive veneers and take impressions of teeth. The impression is sent to our trusted lab where custom veneers are crafted to Dr. Lorber’s exact specifications to ensure the veneer rests perfectly in line with existing teeth once bonded. We provide temporary porcelain veneers before the final appointment to protect teeth.

At the second visit, temporary veneers are removed and replaced with the custom porcelain veneers. Once cemented firmly in position, veneers offer patients beautiful, long-lasting results.

Dr. Lorber and the Maspeth Dental team offer patients from Brooklyn and other local areas the highest quality cosmetic dental care. We look forward to helping you and your family the dental care treatments they deserve.

Veneers FAQs

When considering veneers to transform your smile, it’s important that you are confident in your decision. As a permanent, non-reversible solution, Dr. Lorber and his team want to make sure you are committed to the process before moving forward. Below you will find a series of common questions regarding veneers. If you do not find your question listed or would like to schedule an appointment to discuss further, please don’t hesitate to contact our team.

Can veneers become stained?

It is true that veneers are much more stain-resistant than regular tooth enamel; however, it is imperative that you change your lifestyle habits and be mindful of consuming too many dark-colored beverages and foods. Over time, too much coffee, soda, and smoking can cause your veneers to become discolored if you are not careful. While it will certainly be harder and take longer, it’s best to limit your consumption and kick any bad habits to keep your veneers looking their best for as long as possible.

Why choose veneers over other cosmetic solutions?

While there are many great cosmetic solutions available to help you transform your smile, veneers are a permanent way to achieve the look you desire. Not as invasive as dental crowns, they offer interested individuals a way to hide their imperfections without removing too much of the natural tooth structure. Also, if properly maintained, veneers can last for a decade or longer.

What should I do if a veneer comes off?

If you have a veneer that comes off for any reason, make sure to contact our office as soon as possible. If it breaks, be sure to bring the broken piece with you. If possible, your cosmetic dentist may be able to bond it back into place. However, if this is not possible, we will need to have a new veneer created before being able to bond it into place.

Will insurance cover my veneer treatment?

Unfortunately, veneers are a cosmetic service that is not covered by dental insurance. Because it is not considered a “medical necessity,” you will need to look for alternative options when it comes to paying for your treatment. Your dentist, Dr. Lorber, and his team partner with CareCredit financing to allow eligible patients to enroll in low or no interest payment plans. We are also happy to accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
